Job summary

The Cork International Hotel is seeking a Night Porter to deliver high-level customer service and handle guest queries during night shifts. You will support front office operations, ensure safety, and contribute to guest satisfaction through proactive service and effective communication.

You will cooperate with the Front Office Manager, manage premises security, and assist with night audit tasks while maintaining courtesy and professional standards across the hotel.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality/customer service.
• Ability to respond to guest requests promptly and courteously.
• Knowledge of safety, security procedures and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Register, greet and assist guests on arrival.
• Monitor daily arrival list and welcome guests to the hotel.
• Respond to guest information requests about the hotel and surroundings.
• Arrange for special services requested by guests.
• Maintain log books and update for next shift.
• Coordinate night services: telephone, business center, house keeping, reservations, room service.
• Prepare night audit reports as requested.
• Develop relations with local emergency services and agencies.
• Patrol the hotel and document activities per safety policy.
• Handle guest room reservations and special billing instructions.
• Manage access control and secure entrances/exits.
• Complete weekly rota and ensure holiday coverage.
• Respond to guest comments constructively and coach the team.
