Job summary

TechHeads partner is seeking a seasoned Network Security Architect in Ireland to lead the design of secure network solutions across on-premises, cloud and third-party environments. You will own the Palo Alto firewall architecture, develop standards and roadmaps, and guide teams through complex migrations and upgrades.

The role requires 7+ years in network security with strong enterprise experience, deep Azure/on-premises knowledge, and excellent stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in network, infrastructure or cybersecurity with strong network security architecture background.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise network security including firewalls, segmentation, VPN, IDS/IPS.
• Hands-on design with Palo Alto firewalls: HA, rulesets, central management.
• Experience designing secure connectivity across Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments.
• Deep understanding of Zero Trust, network segmentation and secure configurations.
• Experience working with Managed Service Providers, suppliers and third-party partners.
• Ability to produce architecture designs, technical documentation and security recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead network and cybersecurity architecture across projects delivering secure and resilient solutions across on-premises, cloud and third-party environments.
• Own the Palo Alto firewall architecture including design standards, segmentation, rulesets, high availability and lifecycle planning.
• Develop and maintain network security architectures, standards and roadmaps (Zero Trust, VPN, remote access, DMZs).
• Produce and review high-level and low-level designs, network diagrams, security designs and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership for firewall upgrades, migrations and replacement programmes.
• Collaborate with Azure, infrastructure, network and cybersecurity teams to deliver secure hybrid-cloud connectivity.
• Oversee Managed Service Providers and security suppliers to ensure deliverables meet standards.
• Provide guidance to engineers and support major incidents, vulnerability remediation and security assessments.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation and continuous improvement.

Network Security Architect - High-Impact Role

TechHeads is delighted to be partnering with one of our clients who are recruiting for an experienced Network Security Architect to join their Security Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior Network Security or Cybersecurity professional with strong enterprise architecture experience who enjoys working across network security, firewalls, hybrid cloud and complex technology environments.

In this role, you'll act as the Network and Cybersecurity Solution Architect across a range of projects, ensuring secure, resilient and supportable network solutions are designed and delivered across on-premises, cloud and third-party environments. You will also retain design authority for the Palo Alto firewall estate, providing technical leadership across its architecture, lifecycle and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead network and cybersecurity architecture across projects, delivering secure and resilient solutions across on-premises, cloud and third-party environments.
• Own the Palo Alto firewall architecture, including design standards, segmentation, rulesets, high availability and lifecycle planning.
• Develop and maintain network security architectures, standards and roadmaps, including Zero Trust, VPN, remote access, DMZs and secure internet connectivity.
• Produce and review HLDs, LLDs, network diagrams, security designs and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership for firewall upgrades, migrations and replacement programmes.
• Work closely with Azure, infrastructure, network and cybersecurity teams to deliver secure hybrid-cloud connectivity.
• Oversee Managed Service Providers and security suppliers, ensuring technical deliverables, changes and services meet agreed standards.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and support major incidents, vulnerability remediation and security assessments.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation and continuous improvement across the network security environment.

Requirements:

• 7+ years' experience across network, infrastructure or cybersecurity, with significant experience in network security architecture.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise network security, including firewalls, segmentation, VPN, IDS/IPS, routing and switching.
• Strong hands-on design and architecture experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including HA, rulesets and central management.
• Experience designing secure connectivity across Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments.
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust, network segmentation, secure configuration and cybersecurity risk.
• Experience working with Managed Service Providers, suppliers and third-party partners.
• Strong ability to produce architecture designs, technical documentation and security recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and senior stakeholders.
• Candidate must currently be located in Ireland and hold an EU Passport or Stamp 4 Visa.
