Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor/Cost Consultant to strengthen our cost management team in Ireland. You will prepare MEP cost plans, estimates and BoQs, provide accurate cost advice and support budgeting, forecasting and cost control activities on high-profile projects.

You’ll work with contractors, consultants and the supply chain, review pricing, engage in procurement and tender evaluations, and contribute to value engineering and commercial reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
• Experience in MEP quantity surveying, cost planning or cost management
• Strong knowledge of BoQ production and cost planning
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical building services
• Experience of cost control and contractor engagement
• Knowledge of procurement and tender processes
• Experience using CostX or similar software
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Full driving licence required

Responsibilities

• Preparing MEP cost plans, estimates and Bills of Quantities (BoQs)
• Providing accurate cost advice and reporting
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cost control activities
• Monitoring project costs and identifying risks and opportunities
• Reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing
• Supporting procurement and tender evaluation exercises
• Engaging with contractors, consultants and supply chain partners
• Assisting with value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives
• Supporting change control, valuations and commercial reporting
• Working closely with project leaders to deliver successful project outcomes
