Windward Management Limited is seeking a Conference & Banqueting Manager for Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in Carlow, Ireland. You will lead meetings and events, liaise with clients, manage vendors, and ensure seamless delivery of exceptional service for weddings and corporate functions.

The role reports to the General Manager and requires strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills to optimise service standards across the hotel’s M&E operations.

Qualifications

• A degree in Event Management, Hospitality, or Sales is desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and business acumen.
• Meticulous attention to detail and immaculate grooming/presentation.
• Fluent English and intermediate computer skills.
• Ambition in meetings and events, with previous experience essential.
• Strong customer service, communication, negotiation, and corporate networking skills.
• Be flexible to assist the overall sales function when required.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualise and plan events according to client objectives, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Work closely with clients to determine event objectives, theme, venue, and budget.
• Serve as primary contact for the Bride and Groom on wedding day, ensuring a memorable experience.
• Vendor management: select and manage vendors, negotiate contracts, ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with caterers, decorators, and AV technicians to align event elements.
• Oversee logistics for venue setup, seating, and technical requirements.
• Manage transportation, accommodation, and catering arrangements.
• Maintain client and guest relations before, during, and after events.
• Conduct consultations to align vision with planning strategies.
• Post-event evaluation and reporting with client feedback.
