The ideal candidate will bridge Chinese and Western media landscapes, craft resonant stories for speakers, partners and startups, and manage content across WeChat, Weibo, Douyin, Xiaohongshu and more.
The Media team is at the heart of Web Summit, making sure that the world’s most influential
media attend, speak at and cover our events across the world. The team facilitates the best
experience for the media during Web Summits, facilitating discussion and driving coverage
across multiple platforms.
The Media team works with journalists on a daily basis, making sure that every significant
media outlet, reporter and creator across the globe - whatever their platform - knows about,
travels to and covers our events. In doing so, we drive awareness of our events as the
world’s premier tech conferences - and of Web Summit as the world’s leading tech
conference business.
The team also secures the most impactful and relevant moderators for our stage content;
arranges interviews, live podcasts, creator content, press conferences and announcements;

and works closely with Web Summit’s key teams to ensure the maximum impact and
visibility of their work.
You'd support Web Summit’s media and communications team in building relationships with
Chinese journalists and media organisations, particularly across Mainland China, Hong
Kong, Taiwan and other Chinese-speaking markets.
The ideal candidate is a bilingual PR/media professional who understands both Chinese and
Western media, can build relationships with journalists, identify stories that will resonate with
Chinese audiences, and turn Web Summit's speakers, partners, startups and technology
stories into coverage.
