Job summary

Dawn Meats in Kildare town is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to support plant maintenance, fix faults and improve equipment reliability. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and is based at the Kildare production site.

You will work with operations to uphold safety standards, carry out preventive maintenance, and complete documentation and SOPs. A time-served background with 3+ years in mechanical/electrical maintenance and a full driving license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years post-apprenticeship experience.
• Experience with machines & process equipment, controls & automation.
• Experience in electrical & mechanical installations, maintenance and refrigeration systems.
• Good written and oral communication, meeting job requirements.
• Full driving license; able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime and on-call.

Responsibilities

• Supports and executes plant specific maintenance strategies to achieve key performance goals and overall maintenance performance.
• Assists and supports production, enabling schedules to be met and timely issue resolution.
• Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with standards.
• Carry out work orders in a timely and safe manner while maintaining adherence to procedures.
• Upload all job details onto a handheld mobile field device on completion.
• Develop in-depth working knowledge of site mechanical equipment.
• Complete all paperwork in full.
• Follow Health and Safety Rules and Regulations on site.
• Complete training and review SOPs on compliance.
