Maintenance Fitter / Mechanical fitter – Cork
Monday-Friday hours. – Permanent role.
Role Summary: As a Maintenance Fitter you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production machinery and equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting routine maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of beef processing equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, motor/gearbox and packaging machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshooting faults, and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Collaborating with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring equipment longevity and optimal performance.
- Replacing and repairing defective components, such as motors, bearings, belts, and hydraulic systems.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards, and company policies.
- Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history.

- Level 6 trade certificate or other
- Time-served Mechanical, Automation & Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) or Time served mechanic demonstrating a high level of competency, with a minimum of 2 years post apprenticeship experience
- Experienced in hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience of machines & process equipment, controls & automation.
- Experience in electrical & mechanical installations, maintenance and refrigeration systems
- Can demonstrate good communication, both written & oral skills, which meet the requirements of the job in full
- Good troubleshooting ability; to logically follow a line of thought for problem solving
- Holds a full driving license
- Ability to work on their own initiative, with minimum supervision, as well as part of a team
- Has a flexible approach to working hours (overtime and on call)
