Job summary

Wallace Myers International is recruiting two Maintenance Fitters for its Co. Wexford facility.

You will join a dynamic engineering team and work on a 2-shift rotation (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm) in a fast-growing Irish FMCG environment. The role requires a time-served mechanical fitter with strong fault-finding skills, capable of reading drawings and maintaining production/process lines while upholding safety and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a time-served apprenticeship or recognised trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter.
• Solid mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing, ideally on production or packaging lines.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals.

Overview

We are currently looking to recruit two Maintenance Fitters to join a fast-growing Irish manufacturer who specialise in health and wellbeing consumables (FMCG). Based from their production facility in Co. Wexford you will join a dynamic engineering team, working on a 2 shift rotation basis.

Responsibilities

• Keep production and packaging machinery reliable through planned preventative maintenance and hands-on repairs.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and getting lines back up and running with minimal lost time.
• Fit, align and replace bearings, shafts, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors and drive components.
• Support changeovers and assist with commissioning new or upgraded equipment.
• Work alongside Operations and the wider engineering team to help hit daily production targets.
• Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records
• Uphold health and safety, food safety and hygiene standards in everything you do.

Criteria

• Hold a time-served apprenticeship or recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.
• Bring solid mechanical maintenance experience from a manufacturing setting, ideally on production or packaging lines.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals with confidence.
• Show strong fault-finding skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
• Offer experience in food, beverage, nutraceutical or pharma environments, along with FMCG or high-volume production (advantageous).
• Welding or fabrication skills, basic pneumatics or hydraulics, or lean/continuous improvement exposure (all a bonus).

Reward

• €27 - €30 per hour on a 39-hour week, with a 20% shift premium on top.
• Work a 2-shift rotation (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm), five days across a seven-day operation.
