Job summary

Jones Engineering in Damastown, Dublin 15 is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our Maintenance division. The role focuses on tendering, evaluating quotes, and collaborating with project teams to ensure competitive bids and accurate costings.

You will perform site walks, review drawings and specifications, and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to deliver robust estimates for Ireland-wide projects.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Relevant Mechanical qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure with strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication and time management skills essential.
• A strong analytical mindset with excellent negotiation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills especially in the use of Excel/Google Sheets/etc.

Responsibilities

• Tendering a variety of projects in Ireland, across a range of sectors.
• Involvement in full tender process from beginning to completion.
• Site walks with construction team.
• Conduct in-dept reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules etc.
• Liaising with relevant parties/supplies/subcontractors.
• Evaluate, analyse & validate supplier and sub-contractor quotations.
• Issue tender RFIs and review client response with Estimating Team.
• Attend meetings and site visits when required.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator to be based in our Damastown office Dublin 15. This position is within Maintenance division of the group, so some understanding of mechanical equipment, materials, processes, materials etc. is important. Other important duties will include (but not limited to)
