Job summary

Jones Engineering is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our Damastown office. You will support tendering and collaborate with the estimating and multidisciplinary team to deliver large-scale projects across sectors.

You will participate in site walks, client meetings and ensure sub-contract quotes comply with specifications. Applicants should hold a relevant Engineering qualification with 1–2 years in estimating, solid MS Office/Excel skills, and experience with Trimble/Cost X/Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in an estimating role.
• Related qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Some knowledge of MS Office systems and MS Excel.
• Experience using estimating software such as Trimble/Cost X/Bluebeam or similar.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in tendering on a variety of large-scale projects in a variety of industries.
• Liaising with relevant parties on an on-going basis.
• Informing managers of bid prospects.
• Attending pre and post tender interviews.
• Attending site walks with construction team.
• Assemble sub-contract quotes while ensuring they comply with the spec.
• Attend meetings both internal and client based where required.
• Perform quantity take-offs for electrical installations including the below.
• Power distribution systems, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, data and communication systems, security and access control systems & containment systems

Job Description

As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our project development and implementation process. You will work closely with the Estimating team as well as a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry experts to deliver cutting-edge projects. Current requirements allow for a base in our Damastown office, Co. Dublin.

Skills and Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Related qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• 1-2 years of experience in an estimating role.
• Trade background would be advantageous.
• Experience in data centre projects is advantageous, demonstrating your understanding of industry best practices and technologies.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Some knowledge of MS Office systems and MS Excel required.
• Experience using estimating software such as Trimble/Cost X/Bluebeam or similar.
• Demonstrated appetite for continuous learning and personal development.
