Job summary

NeoDyne in Cork is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding team. Over a two-year placement, you will contribute to mechanical design, equipment layouts, and calculations as part of cross-functional projects in industrial, manufacturing and energy sectors.

You will gain hands-on experience on site, work with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit), and participate in site surveys, testing and commissioning while developing your skills under our People First

Qualifications

  • Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Energy Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years' experience in a similar mechanical design role or Work Placement.
  • Full Irish driving license or to be achieved within 12 months of starting the role.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design of systems for industrial, manufacturing and critical infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with equipment selection and calculation (pipe sizing, pressure drops, pump sizing).
  • Develop and review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment specifications, datasheets and documentation.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, automation and instrumentation engineers.
  • Visit customer sites to support surveys, installation, testing and commissioning.

Position Summary

NeoDyne are recruiting a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding engineering teams. Our graduate programme is all about learning new and developing your existing skills. Over a two-year period, you will be placed in projects where you get to do meaningful work and contribute to the business.

This Graduate opportunity is offered as a full-time permanent contract, based at our Cork Office, with an excellent salary and benefits package. What might I be doing?
  • Mechanical Design: Support the design of mechanical systems for industrial, manufacturing and critical infrastructure projects, including equipment layouts, piping and utility systems.
  • Equipment & Engineering: Assist with equipment selection and specification, and carry out mechanical calculations such as pipe sizing, pressure drops and pump sizing.
  • Drawings & Documentation: Develop and review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment specifications, datasheets and technical documentation.
  • Multidisciplinary Projects: Work alongside mechanical, electrical, automation and instrumentation engineers to deliver coordinated engineering solutions.
  • Site & Commissioning: Visit customer sites to support surveys, installation, equipment inspections, testing and commissioning, gaining hands‑on experience of bringing designs into operation.

Required
Experience & skills
  • Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Energy Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years' experience in a similar mechanical design role or Work Placement.
  • Full Irish driving license or to be achieved within 12 months of starting the role.
Desired
  • A strong understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles.
  • Experience using mechanical design or CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit or similar.
