Job summary

NeoDyne Ltd is recruiting a Lead Automation Engineer to join our Integration & Digital Manufacturing team in Cork. You will work on cutting-edge automation projects across Energy, Life Sciences, and Food & Beverage sectors, with experience in Siemens, Rockwell, and AVEVA products being advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science or related field.
  • 7–10 years automation engineering experience.
  • Experience with validated automation systems in Pharmaceutical or Food & Beverage environments.
  • Full Irish Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers delivering projects at customer sites.
  • Develop engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans.
  • Design and coding of industrial process automation solutions on PLCs.
  • Produce I/O schedules and prepare Functional Design specifications.
  • Design and configuration of user interface systems for industrial control (HMI/SCADA).
  • Oversee commissioning of control systems in the field: testing and commissioning.
  • Provide technical input for tenders and monitor project performance.
  • Mentor graduate/junior engineers.

Position Summary

NeoDyne are recruiting a Lead Automation Engineer to join our growing Integration & Digital Manufacturing team. Our Engineers work on leading-edge automation projects, predominantly in the Energy, Life Science and Food & Beverage sectors. A background in GAMP 5 and experience with Siemens, Rockwell and AVEVA (Wonderware) products would be a distinct advantage.

Key responsibilities
  • Leading a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers delivering projects to customer sites.
  • Developing engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans.
  • Design and coding of industrial process automation solutions on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Production of I/O schedules
  • Preparation of Functional Design specifications
  • Design and configuration of user interface systems for industrial control (HMI/SCADA)
  • Design of control panels and creation of panel wiring schematics
  • Oversee commissioning of control systems in the field: I/O and instrumentation testing, full testing and commissioning of automation systems
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality, and safety requirements
  • Fault finding of control systems (PLC, HMI/SCADA, Communication Networks etc.)
  • Providing design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated systems.
  • Working closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through the use of automation and data analytics technology.
  • Act as primary technical contact for clients and stakeholders, providing technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments.
  • Support proposal development and technical input for tenders
  • Monitor project performance and report on progress, identifying and mitigating project risks and issues
  • Lead and mentor graduate/ junior engineers.
Experience & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related field.
  • 7-10 years’ automation engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring.
  • Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).
  • Experience working with validated Automation systems in the Pharmaceutical or Food Beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Full Irish Driving Licence
