Job summary

NeoDyne is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Power Generation & Energy Systems team, with flexibility to be based in Cork, Galway or Dublin. You will work on PFDs/P&IDs, piping design, and 3D modelling for gas turbines, boilers, and related systems, collaborating with EI&C teams.

The role requires a Level 8 Mechanical Engineering degree and 3–6 years of relevant experience, preferably with 3D BIM packages and piping software. We offer training and a supportive, people-first culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level degree in mechanical/process engineering or equivalent is required.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering roles.
  • Experience with 3D BIM tools and PFDs/P&IDs is essential.
  • Thermal power generation background and piping design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Produce PFDs and P&IDs with EI&C teams for multiple systems.
  • Create specifications for mechanical equipment and assemblies.
  • Perform 3D piping design, isometrics and stress analysis.
  • Model plant flow and pressure for complex systems.
  • Develop general arrangements and coordinated drawings.
  • Assist with site surveys and construction support.

Mechanical Engineer (Cork, Galway or Dublin)
Position Summary

NeoDyne are recruiting a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding Power Generation & Energy Systems team. Experience with Peaking, CCGT, CHP Plants or Embedded Renewables would be highly desirable but not essential as we will provide full training.

This position offers flexibility in location and packages options. This role will be offered as a full-time staff position, based at one of our office locations: Cork, Galway or Dublin Office. Key Responsibilities
  • Producing PFDs and P&IDs in collaboration with EI&C teams for Gas, Fuel Oil, Lube Oil, Steam, Water, Compressed Air and similar systems.
  • Producing requirement specifications for various mechanical equipment and assemblies (gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs,/boilers, pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers etc.)
  • Completing detailed Piping Design, including 3D piping design, isometrics, system modelling and stress analysis.
  • Process/Piping system flow and pressure modelling.
  • Plant Layout Design - General Arrangements.
  • Preparing coordinated drawings covering all aspects of installations, including mechanical, electrical and structural elements.

Experience & Skills:

Required

  • Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3-6 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Experience using 3D BIM/Drawing packages such as Revit MEP, Plant 3D or similar
  • Experience in preparation of coordinated General Arrangement drawings, PFDs, P&IDs and more.
  • Experience with detailed piping design, ideally in Thermal Power Generation industry, using Pipe-Flo, AFT Fathom or related software.

Desired

  • Experience with Peaking, CCGT, CHP Plants or Embedded Renewables would be highly desirable but not essential as we will provide full training.
