Job summary

Glanua in Cork City is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to water and wastewater projects, ensuring health and safety compliance under CDM regulations. The role involves design deliverables, option studies, and collaboration with electrical and civil teams.

The candidate should have at least 1 year of experience, a Level 7 qualification, and the ability to travel within Ireland/UK as needed. A proactive, team-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in mechanical design or similar.
• Level 7 qualification including Diploma/Ordinary Bachelor Degree.
• Experience with water/wastewater processes is desirable.
• Able to work in a multi-disciplinary project team with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical design for water, wastewater and process treatment plants.
• Produce procurement specifications for mechanical equipment and detailed design construction drawings.
• Project manage third-party designs and support installation and commissioning teams.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Work as part of a team to support project delivery and the 'one team' ethos.
• Ensure Design Change Control is followed.
• Coordinate between Electrical and Civil & Structural Designers.
• Contribute to growth and development of the company and mentoring of junior staff.
