Job summary

Glanua is recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer in Ireland with a Level 7/8 Electrical Engineering degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably in water and wastewater. The role involves designing electrical systems, collaborating across disciplines and ensuring HSE and quality standards are embedded in all outputs.

You will engage in procurement activities, tender reviews and handovers to site teams, with a focus on innovative and sustainable design solutions.

Qualifications

• Level 7/8 degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience, preferably in water & wastewater sector.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, teamwork and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT; familiarity with design software.
• Experience with Trimble ProDesign (Amtech) or ETAP calculation software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure HSE, Environmental, Sustainability & Quality standards are integrated into designs and outputs.
• Collaborate with Process, Mechanical, Control & Automation, Civil and Structural teams for optimum design solutions.
• Compile and review site surveys and condition reports; prepare M&I listings.
• Design medium voltage systems, generator sizing for back-up applications, and general electrical services.
• Procure LV/MV packages; review tender returns and provide value-for-money recommendations.
• Hand over detailed design documentation to site delivery teams and support tender pricing.
