Summary: Our client is a pharmaceutical company in Cork looking for a Mechanical Construction Project Lead to form part of the client team leading safe, compliant, and effective delivery of predominantly mechanical construction scopes, ensuring works are executed to the highest Safety and Quality standards, on schedule and within budget. Responsibilities: Lead mechanical construction delivery across systems such as piping, HVAC, utilities, equipment installation, testing and turnover. Lead engineering & design aspects of the projects with design houses. Hire and coordinate contractors and vendors while managing interfaces with live plant operations. Lead the project on all construction matters, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, standards, permits, RAMS, and site procedures. Monitor progress, productivity, safety, quality, manpower, schedule, and contractor performance, escalating risks and recovery actions as required. Support material readiness, change control, technical queries, walkdowns, punch closure and handover. Qualifications & Experience: Degree, trade qualification, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. Significant mechanical construction experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, biopharma, life sciences. or other regulated project environments. Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, construction work packs, inspections, testing, and turnover documentation. Proven ability to lead contractors and multidisciplinary teams on small and medium capital projects while managing safety, quality, schedule, cost, and commissioning milestones. Project management and construction safety qualifications are desirable. Additional training in lifting operations, permit-to-work, pressure systems, welding quality, would be an advantage. Safety and Quality Leadership: Leads safe, right-first-time mechanical construction with strong compliance and inspection readiness. Mechanical Delivery Expertise: Understands mechanical systems, installation methods, constraints, sequencing, and commissioning dependencies. Project Execution Discipline: Applies structured planning, progress tracking, risk management, issue resolution, and commercial awareness.
