Job summary

ProFleet Engineering are recruiting for a Construction Manager based in Limerick. You will lead a team of engineers to deliver the project safely, on schedule, and to high quality standards.

You will develop construction execution plans, schedules and subcontract scopes essential for project delivery. Typical responsibilities include safety leadership, method statements, risk assessments, and coordinating with QA/QC, schedulers and QS to manage costs, timelines and quality in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Min 5–7 years of relevant CM/Project Engineer experience.
  • Experience on mechanical construction projects in Pharma/Biotech/Siemens or Oil & Gas sectors.
  • Experience with equipment installation, piping fabrication/installation and pressure testing.
  • Degree in Construction, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficient in NavisWorks or equivalent software.
  • MSIC or safety management knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day safety and enforce company safety procedures.
  • Plan work from initiation to execution and close-out for materials and subcontract packages.
  • Lead site supervision team including engineers and craft supervisors.
  • Develop constructability reports and project schedules with the team.
  • Collaborate with QS to control subcontractor costs, schedule, quality and safety.
  • Coordinate with workshops on prefabrication planning and testing.
  • Provide weekly/monthly progress reports to client or representatives.
  • Attend internal and client site meetings to drive project outcomes.

About the job Construction Manager - Limerick

ProFleet Engineering are currently recruiting for a Construction Manager for our clients based in Limerick, Ireland.


Reporting to the Project Director, the role of Construction Manager, Mechanical is to manage a team of engineers in the execution of the project scope, such that the works are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, to the highest quality standards. Construction Manager will also have a key role in the development of construction execution plans, schedules and subcontract work scopes, as deemed necessary for the project delivery.


Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Have day-to-day responsibility for managing Health and Safety matters, on the project, and ensure that the Company Safety Management procedures are implemented.

  • Manage and conduct work activities, to ensure the Safety, Health and Welfare at work of employees, client employees, contractors and any other persons affected by specificoperations.

  • Ensure that Method Statements, Risk Assessments, SPA's and client permits are completed for all tasks, requiring same.

  • Plan all aspects of the work from initiation through execution and closure for all materials, subcontract work packages and craft requirements

  • Manage the site supervision team, including the engineers and craft supervisors.

  • Work with the scheduler, Engineers and Foremen to develop a constructability report and schedule for the project.

  • Establish subcontractor work scope execution plans with the assigned QS, including generating work scopes, tendering and awarding of works, through to controlling subcontractors' costs, schedule, quality and safety throughout the contract.

  • Liaise with workshops on prefabrication planning and co-ordinate the works including prioritizations, test requirements, and documentation.

  • Generate weekly/monthly progress reporting to customer / client and or their representatives in a timely and professional fashion.

  • Work closely with Quantity Surveyors on cost management, including pricing of variations, reworks, progress reports, negotiation with clients and sub-contractors.

  • Attend internal and client site meetings as necessary to affect a successful outcome for all stakeholders.

  • Oversee the control of time worked, adapting to and implementing site change requests as they arise.

  • Inspect all works for compliance with safety requirements, technical specifications and compliance with design.

  • Liaise with QA/QC resources to ensure the compliance of our work scope with standards, client specifications and industry requirements.

  • Oversee the assembly of hand over packages to the customer.

  • Completion of any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager/ Project Director.

Person Specification:


Education, Training & Experience


  • Min 5-7 years relevant experience as CM/Project Engineer essential.

  • Worked on mechanical construction projects in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Semi-conductor or Oil & Gas industry - essential.

  • Experience of working on construction projects with equipment installation, piping fabrication, piping installation and pressure testing on site – essential.

  • Preferably a Degree Qualification in Construction, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Proficient in the use of NavisWorks or equivalent packages

  • Completion of Management of Safety in Construction (MSIC) - desirable.

  • Strong Communicator, written and verbal.

  • Diligent, has a high level of attention to detail, and sets a high standard of quality for themselves and others.

  • Personable, and a team player.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

  • Hard working and able to work in fast paced work environment.

  • Accountable & highly organised someone who take ownership of tasks from beginning to end.

  • Decisive, able to make decisions while lacking some information.

  • Ability to complete successful negotiation and build rapport with customers and subcontractors.
