A Meat Processor Operative is responsible for preparing, processing, packaging, and handling meat products in a safe, hygienic, and efficient manner within a fast-paced production environment. The role includes trimming, cutting, weighing, labelling, packaging, and storing products to meet production schedules and quality standards. Operatives safely operate processing machinery, carry out routine quality checks, and ensure all products comply with company specifications and food safety regulations. Maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and health and safety is essential. Duties include sanitising work areas, wearing the correct personal protective equipment (PPE), following standard operating procedures, assisting with stock handling and material movement, and reporting equipment faults, quality issues, or safety concerns to supervisors. Teamwork and flexibility are important to achieve daily production targets.
Candidates should be able to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment, demonstrate attention to detail, and have a good understanding of food hygiene and workplace safety. Good communication skills, the ability to follow instructions, and sufficient English language skills are required. Previous experience in meat processing, food production, or manufacturing is desirable, as is knowledge of HACCP or food safety practices and experience operating food processing equipment.
