Job summary

Freudenberg Group is seeking a maintenance-focused professional in Ireland to diagnose and resolve manufacturing issues, oversee OEE metrics, and support energy-conscious improvements. The role emphasizes safe operations, cross-team collaboration, and hands-on problem solving within a busy production environment.

The ideal candidate will have technical trade experience or NFQ Level 6, plus experience with PMs, SMED, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Ideally trade experience (Toolmaker, Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic) or NFQ Level 6 in a technical discipline.
• Mechanical, electrical or Lean Six Sigma certification – highly desirable.
• Process experience in Grinding, Moulding, EDM and/or Laser processes – distinct advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to be adaptable and flexible while managing multiple ongoing tasks.
• Hands-on approach to diagnosing and fixing manufacturing issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and implement permanent solutions to manufacturing issues.
• Take technical responsibility for OEE Metrics Yield & Downtime and communicate downtime events.
• Support changeovers while reducing changeover times (SMED).
• Complete equipment preventive maintenance to optimise performance.
• Manage spare parts inventory to minimise downtime.
• Design jigs & fixtures to meet manufacturing requirements and improve processes.
• Follow safety systems and report hazards per OH&S rules.
• Collaborate with production to prioritise daily/weekly actions.
• Be aware of energy impact of maintenance and energy performance of equipment.
