Job summary

Pfizer is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Technician to support maintenance, reliability, and redesign of utilities systems and equipment at our Ireland site. You will contribute to project scopes, calibration, RCFA investigations, and safety programs while collaborating with Production and Quality teams to minimize downtime.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Engineering or relevant trade, 3+ years in pharma maintenance, and hands-on troubleshooting across mechanical and electrical

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in an Engineering/Technical Discipline or Electrical/Mechanical Trade Qualification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Engineering/Maintenance Technician role within a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis PM/PdM optimization, and/or Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Current Good Manufacturing Practices GMP {part of GxP}
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience with commissioning, qualification, start-up, and production support activities is desirable
• Experience executing Engineering tasks using Engineering Maintenance Management systems such as EAMS.
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting capability across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and logic diagrams.
• Experience with process automation systems, PLC diagnostics, and instrumentation is desirable
• Good computer literacy and documentation skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel
• Nice-to-Have Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

• Contribute to completion of projects and manage own time to meet targets.
• Develop plans for short-term work activities on own projects.
• Provide engineering support to develop scope of work and project execution plans.
• Provide necessary operational support as needed.
• Review preventive and corrective work order activities and provide equipment maintenance history review.
• Manage technical writing and document review.
• Ensure calibration compliance with GMP and contemporary technologies.
• Participate in RCFA investigations and update reliability plans.
• Partner with Production and Quality leads on troubleshooting and scheduling.
• Promote safety and conduct proactive safety assessments.
