Job summary

McDermott Laboratories Limited is seeking a Manufacturing Lead to oversee exhibition assembly lines, ensuring GMP compliance and high-quality output. You will drive machine setup, batch records, and KPI reporting while mentoring a skilled team.

The role requires flexibility in shift patterns, a strong continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent; additional qualifications are an advantage.
• Candidates must be able to work different shift patterns plus overtime when required (e.g. 4 Cycle, 24-7).
• Demonstrated ability to understand and implement Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Demonstrated strong team-working skills; continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing lines to meet output targets per SOPs.
• Ensure GMP standards and maintain cleanroom/area housekeeping.
• Set up machines and perform in-process testing; monitor product conditions.
• Complete Manufacturing Batch Records (MBR) per SOPs and document trends.
• Report to Production Manager on Exhibit Assembly matters; lead Exhibit Assembly Operators.
• Mentor and coach team members; drive right-first-time outputs and KPI reporting.

• Operate manufacturing lines in an efficient manner in accordance with the relevant SOP’s to ensure required output targets are achieve.
• Ensure that the manufacturing equipment and area is cleaned to GMP standards prior to use
• Responsible for the preparatory set up of machines and equipment, product in-process testing and for product condition during processing.
• Complete the Manufacturing Batch Record (MBR) according to relevant SOPs.
• Report directly to Production Manager on all matters related to Exhibit Assembly.
• Responsible for a high standard of GMP and good housekeeping, and for inspection of batches that do not meet the quality standards.
• Adhere to all company and legislative health, safety and environmental requirements, and perform any other duties as assigned by Production Manager.
• Effectively use Manufacturing support software packages e.g. MES, SAP, Trackwise, Documentum etc.
• Contribute positively to the elimination of preventable errors
• Batch file reviews
• Co-ordination of Lineside Triages with appropriate follow up.
• Provide leadership to the Exhibit Assembly Operators team.
• Mentoring and coaching team members.
• Constantly look to improve the process and to learn new skills.
• Take and direct Tier I & II meetings to ensure team are informed and aligned to the daily targets and issues.
• Understand, input and report out Key metrics and KPIs for the area.
• Undertake development plan to suit progression in the role.
• Focus on right first time to achieve MBR / EBR review ready from the line and achieve the target as set out by the area manager.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Additional qualifications an advantage.
