Job summary

Gi Group is seeking a Financial Controller for a site-based finance function in Clare. The role leads financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls, reporting to the Financial Director, with close collaboration across operations.

The successful candidate will drive performance, develop the finance team and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent).
• At least five years progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Experience leading a manufacturing finance function.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost accounting.
• Experience with US GAAP and multinational or public group reporting.
• SOX familiarity advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the finance team to high performance.
• Partner with operations to support business decisions with financial analysis.
• Set departmental objectives and development plans aligned to company goals.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen finance function effectiveness.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, GL, fixed assets and cost accounting.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports for corporate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory reporting and policies.
• Coordinate annual statutory filings and tax compliance.
• Lead monthly forecasting for orders, sales, P&L and balance sheet.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and cross-functional support.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and responses.
