Job summary

Dalata Hotel Group plc in Dublin seeks a Maintenance Operative to join our team. You will be trained through the Dalata Academy to learn essential skills and collaborate with experienced colleagues, growing your career within the group.

You will proactively manage daily workloads, perform maintenance across painting, decorating and gardening, and support plumbers, electricians, and contractors to keep our hotel facilities in excellent condition.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality is desirable.
• Safe Pass certification preferred.
• Qualifications in trades such as painting, gardening, heating, plumbing, or construction are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage daily workloads while ensuring efficient use of resources, including painting, decorating, and gardening.
• Carry out maintenance tasks, including preventive routines, in areas such as tiling, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ensure maintenance procedures are up to date and repairs are carried out promptly.
• Assist plumbers and electricians in rectifying defects within hotel systems.
• Provide assistance and direction to contractors working at the Maldron Hotel Merrion Road.
• Contribute to routine maintenance and refurbishment of hotel facilities.
• All activities comply with health and safety legislation and best practice guidelines.
• Follow HACCP procedures and complete HACCP documentation as required.

Your Job:

• Proactively manage daily workloads while ensuring the efficient use of available resources, including painting, decorating, and gardening.
• Carry out maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance routines, as per departmental requirements in areas such as tiling, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ensure that all maintenance procedures are kept up to date and that repairs are carried out promptly.
• Assist plumbers and electricians in rectifying defects or malfunctions within the hotel systems.
• Provide assistance and direction to contractors working at the Maldron Hotel Merrion Road.
• Contribute as part of the team responsible for the routine maintenance and upkeep of hotel facilities, including refurbishment of services and amenities.
• All maintenance activities and procedures comply with applicable health and safety legislation, policies, and best practice guidelines.
• Follow all hotel HACCP procedures and complete all HACCP documentation as required.

What You Will Need:

• Previous hospitality experience is desirable.
• Safe Pass certification is preferred.
• Qualifications in one or more trades, including painting, gardening, heating, plumbing, or construction, are desirable.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work effectively.
• Standards-driven and detail-oriented.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility regarding working hours.
• Good command of the English language.
