Job summary

Le Boat in Ireland is seeking a Boat Maintenance Technician to support our boat yard ahead of the season. You will dock arrivals, assist winter preparations, spring commissioning, and hauling, while stocking the marine shop and coordinating with the base team.

The role offers hands-on maintenance of 36 and 45ft fiberglass boats, including pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical systems, propane, and hydraulics. A willingness to travel to off-site locations is required.

Qualifications

• Technical studies or hands-on experience related to diesel engines, hydraulic systems, water pumps, or HVAC repair and general maintenance.
• A strong desire to learn and enhance technical skills.
• Ability to interpret specifications and installation instructions.
• Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to work on-site in Portumna base.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Maintain our fleet to the highest standards for customer satisfaction and reliability.
• Ensure boats are in impeccable condition for presentation.
• Follow manufacturer maintenance schedules.
• Gain hands-on experience in installing electrical and mechanical equipment, including small fiberglass repairs (training provided).
• Collaborate closely with the Head Tech & Base Manager to efficiently prioritise tasks.
• Be ready to travel to off-site locations for emergency repairs.
• Participate in hauling/launching, commissioning, de-commissioning, and gas dock operations as required.
• Take charge of mechanical maintenance/repairs on 36 and 45ft. fiberglass boats, handling technical interventions on pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical, propane, and hydraulic connections.
