Job summary

Le Boat, part of the Travelopia group, is seeking a Boat Maintenance Technician to support the Portumna base. You will help prepare boats for the season, receive vessels, perform winterizing and commissioning, and assist with hauling, launching, and on-site repairs.

Ideal candidates have mechanical or electrical maintenance experience, a valid driving license, and the ability to work on-site in Portumna. English fluency and Ireland work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Technical training or hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, water pumps, or HVAC maintenance.
• Strong willingness to learn and enhance technical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret installation instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain boats to high standards for customer satisfaction and reliability.
• Ensure boats are in excellent condition for presentation.
• Follow manufacturer maintenance schedules.
• Gain hands-on experience installing electrical and mechanical equipment, with training provided.
• Collaborate with Head Tech & Base Manager to prioritize tasks.
• Be prepared to travel to off-site locations for repairs.
• Participate in hauling, launching, commissioning, de-commissioning, and gas dock operations.
• Take charge of maintenance/repairs on 36 and 45ft fiberglass boats, including pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical, propane, and hydraulics.

Your Role: Boat Maintenance Technician

As a valued member of the Le Boat team, you will play a pivotal role in preparing our boat yard for the upcoming season. Your responsibilities will include receiving boats, winter preparations, spring commissioning, fall hauling, and stocking the marine shop.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Maintain our fleet to the highest standards for customer satisfaction and reliability.
• Ensure boats are in impeccable condition for presentation.
• Follow manufacturer maintenance schedules.
• Gain hands-on experience in installing electrical and mechanical equipment, including small fiberglass repairs (training provided).
• Collaborate closely with the Head Tech & Base Manager to efficiently prioritize tasks.
• Be ready to travel to off-site locations for emergency repairs.
• Participate in hauling/launching, commissioning, de-commissioning, and gas dock operations as required.
• Take charge of mechanical maintenance/repairs on 36 and 45ft. fiberglass boats, handling technical interventions on pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical, propane, and hydraulic connections.

What We Are Looking For:

• Technical studies or hands-on experience related to diesel engines, hydraulic systems, water pumps, or HVAC repair and general maintenance.
• A strong desire to learn and enhance technical skills.
• Ability to interpret specifications and installation instructions.
• Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work on-site in Portumnabase.
• Fluency in English is required
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland.
