Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a well established manufacturing business in Waterford. The role focuses on reliability, performance of equipment in a fast-paced production environment and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a Mechanical Fitter or Electrical trade qualification, strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems, and be flexible to shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Electrician or multi-skilled maintenance technician.
• Experience within manufacturing FMCG, food, beverage, pharmaceutical or similar production environments.
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with PLC fault finding would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, conveyors and automated machinery.
• Flexible approach to shift work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
• Work with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise plant performance.
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.
• Complete maintenance documentation and ensure compliance with health & safety procedures.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment when required.
