About the Role
Our Client is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in Mullingar.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant, production equipment and site utilities. You will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working with a range of mechanical and electrical systems, and working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering and operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment, plant and utilities.
- Diagnose and troubleshootmechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control-related faults.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
- Complete maintenance activities in accordance with site procedures, safety requirements and GMP standards.
- Inspect, maintain and repair machinery, pumps, motors, valves, conveyors and associated equipment.
- Carry out mechanical fitting, assembly, adjustment and alignment of equipment.
- Work with electrical systems and controls where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Accurately record maintenance activities, faults, parts used and corrective actions within the site's maintenance management system.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and other departments to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety, GMP, environmental and quality requirements.
- Participate in on-call or out-of-hours maintenance support where required.
Requirements
- Recognised Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic or Maintenance Engineering qualification.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, food, medical device or other regulated production environment is highly desirable.
- Strong practical mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial machinery.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience with pumps, motors, valves, pneumatic systems and other industrial equipment.
- Good understanding of maintenance safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety and GMP standards.
