Job summary

Exotec Ireland seeks a Maintenance Site Team Leader to launch and shape its maintenance operations for a major food & beverage distributor. You will split time at the client warehouse, maintaining advanced automation systems and leading a small but growing team of technicians.

This hands-on role suits an experienced maintenance technician stepping into leadership or a proactive leader ready to influence local maintenance delivery while ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience with at least 1 year in senior or mentorship role.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and software maintenance knowledge.
• Interest in robotics systems and machines; warehouse automation exposure beneficial.
• Strong client-facing mindset and autonomous decision-making.
• Basic SQL knowledge is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead team of on-site Maintenance Technicians based at client warehouse location, inclusive of recruiting, onboarding, performance management and regular training & development
• Support Maintenance Technicians in their daily work by providing hands-on technical support as well as operational direction
• Conduct, plan and ensure preventive maintenance tasks and other maintenance tasks are carried out on-time and on-schedule
• Act as Exotec's local representative for assigned warehouse location
• Monitor system performance at client site, providing regular and timely data reports to internal and external stakeholders
• See that any escalations or system performance issues are resolved as soon as possible
• Ensure material purchasing stays within budget
• Manage any third-party schedules as appropriate, making sure mandatory equipment inspections are completed within scheduled timelines
• Ensure Maintenance team members, external partners, contractors/vendors, warehouse operators and any site visitors are compliant with health, safety and environmental standards and protocol
• Participate in continuous improvement projects

Role Summary

As a Maintenance Site Team Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in launching and shaping Exotec's maintenance operations. As our first ever hire in Ireland, you'll be responsible for executing proven service delivery processes already established across the UK and Europe whilst adapting them to the needs of our client, a recognised food & beverage distributor.

This is a hands‑on role where you'll split your time at our client's warehouse maintaining advanced automation systems and leading a small, growing team of technicians. It's a well‑suited opportunity for an experienced maintenance technician ready to step into their first leadership role, or a more experienced leader and do‑er, who thrives in evolving environments and is keen to influence how maintenance operations are delivered locally.

Requirements

• 3+ years of maintenance experience, ideally with 1+ year of being a senior maintenance team member or a recognised mentor/expert
• Good general knowledge and competency in mechanical, electrical and software maintenance operations and engineering; if no robotics-specific experience, then at least a strong interest working on various robotics systems and machines
• Any exposure to warehouse automation, industrial robotics, materials handling and/or logistics verticals would be highly beneficial
• Strong client-facing mindset with the ability to build creditability and, as necessary, de-escalate and repair stakeholder relationships
• Ability to work effectively and make business or leadership decisions autonomously
• Any understanding of basic SQL queries would be a bonus
