Job summary

Tyndall National Institute, based in Cork, Ireland, seeks a Maintenance Project Lead to manage large-scale tooling replacements, space planning, and upgrades. You will coordinate suppliers, safety, and regulatory compliance while aligning with researchers and facilities teams to ensure smooth installations and commissioning.

The role requires extensive experience in semiconductor equipment projects, strong leadership, and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• A third-level qualification in a scientific or engineering discipline relevant to Semiconductor Processing, Fabrication, and Testing, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on semiconductor equipment maintenance experience in commercial or R&D fab environments.
• Proven track record in installation, project management, maintenance, and process support for semiconductor tools.
• Strong knowledge of electronics, RF, vacuum, mechanical and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management for equipment installation and upgrades.
• Act as primary liaison for equipment vendors and subcontractors.
• Develop checklists and procedures for tool owners to streamline processes.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling, and resource allocation across departments.
• Oversee installation safety, permits, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure utilities, services, and facility readiness for equipment installation.
• Oversee SAT/FAT, commissioning, qualification, and handover to operations.
• Maintain documentation, PM schedules, and training prior to handover.
