Job summary

Tyndall National Institute, based in Cork, Ireland, is a leading research centre in semiconductors, photonics, and deep-tech innovation within a large university network. The Maintenance Project Lead role drives replacement of tooling, upgrades to gas systems, and integration of new equipment across the campus, collaborating with researchers and facilities teams.

Reporting to infrastructure leadership, you will manage project timelines, budgets and vendor relationships while ensuring regulatory

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in a scientific or engineering discipline relevant to semiconductor processing, fabrication and testing, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor equipment maintenance in commercial or R&D environments.
• Proven track record in equipment installation, project management, maintenance and process support.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management for equipment installation and upgrades.
• Act as primary liaison for equipment vendors and subcontractors.
• Develop checklists and procedures for Tool Owners to streamline processes.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling and resource allocation across departments.
• Ensure installation safety, permits and compliance requirements.
