Job summary

BrookLodge & Macreddin Village in Ireland is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Crew member to ensure hotel facilities, guest rooms, and public areas are well maintained. You will assist the Maintenance Manager, lead by example, perform inspections, respond to requests, and carry out repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.

The role requires physical work, strong teamwork, and a proactive safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in maintenance or facilities role.
• General maintenance procedures and equipment knowledge.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Trade qualification or technical training.
• Valid driver's license is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Manager in his role.
• Lead by example with the Maintenace Crew.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of hotel facilities, guest rooms, and common areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Carry out basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
• Monitor and manage building systems such as heating, lighting, and water supply.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for events or functions as required.
• Work collaboratively with the housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage teams to support guest needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in all maintenance work areas.
• Follow health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with hotel standards and local regulations.
• Report any major maintenance issues or equipment faults to the Maintenance Manager
