OLG Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a major client in Louth. This permanent role operates on weekends with Friday-Sunday pattern; days one week, nights the next (6am–6pm and 6pm–6am).

The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient production by carrying out planned maintenance, reporting issues and coordinating with contractors. Salary is £39,460 per year, with weekend shift work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain plant performance to target 100% and support an efficient production line.
  • Carry out safety, operational and technical checks as per maintenance schedules.
  • Attend breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime and preserve OEE.
  • Install new equipment with external contractors when required.
  • Propose purchasing of plant/tools to sustain maintenance standards.
  • Report safety concerns and follow health and safety policies.

Job description

OLG Recruitmentare currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to work for as major client based in Louth. This is a permanent role working weekends.

The shift pattern will be Friday, Saturday Sunday - Days one week, nights the next (6am – 6pm and 6pm -6am).

Role Purpose

To ensure that all engineering activities are undertaken as instructed to a high standard in order to achieve the safest and most efficient and effective production possible.

To report any items which may require maintenance, or where improvements may be made which would reduce waste and/or increase production.

Objectives
Engineering:
  • Ensure the performance of the plant is maintained at agreed levels – aim of 100%, and promote a “Can-Do” culture within the engineering department.
  • Daily checks include Safety, operational, technical, calibrations and engineering, routine maintenance in accordance with the manufacture’s schedules, complete all relevant documentation to ensure the Iso 9001 (2015). standard the site adheres too.
  • To carry out regular checks on essential plant, machinery, and equipment as part of the planned preventative maintenance schedule. To attend to all breakdown in a timely manner to ensure delivery a sustainable OEE performance plant.
  • To install new plant, machinery, or equipment, in association with external contractors as required.
  • To consider the demands of engineering on production and liaise with the Senior Engineer in order to agree the most effective overall maintenance solutions.
  • To recommend to the Senior Engineer the purchase of plant and tools as deemed necessary to ensure a high standard of maintenance is met.
  • To ensure that all maintenance work is undertaken in a safe manner within health and safety guidelines the forefront of a working practices, liaising with the Health & Safety Manager as required.
  • To ensure outside contractors undertake their duties to the standard required and in line with general, and Company, health and safety policy.
  • Highlight issues and come up with long term solutions to support operational improvement, liaise with the Senior Engineer with CI ideas and plans.
  • To be available for call-out duties to provide cover in the event of an emergency break-down and on occasions shift cover may be required.
General:
  • To carry out housekeeping as necessary to keep the areas under your control safe, clean and tidy, (workshop clean on the last day of your working week).
  • To report to the Senior Engineer and Health & Safety Manager promptly any safety concerns, dangerous occurrences, or accidents.
  • To report all engineering-related spillages to the Senior Engineer and Health & Safety Manager and take agreed action as a result.
  • To carry out all agreed safety and maintenance checks on tools and equipment in a timely manner.
  • To report any damage or malfunctioning machinery to the Senior Engineer and take appropriate action as directed.
  • To attend/complete training given by the company to ensure you can carry out all tasks assigned to engineering, (MEWP, FLT, Online training for H&S)
  • To attend and participate fully in Team Meetings
