Role Overview
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of our hospitality venues. You will assist with a variety of maintenance tasks across electrical, plumbing, and general building upkeep, working closely with the maintenance team to identify and resolve issues swiftly. Your contribution will help create a comfortable and efficient workspace that enhances our guests’ experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- Assist with minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks as required.
- Support the maintenance team with preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management, prioritising urgent issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including faults, repairs, and materials used.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with external contractors when necessary and oversee their work to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment or furniture for events or operational needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a maintenance or assistant maintenance role, preferably within hospitality, catering, or engineering environments.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, heating, and general building maintenance systems.
- Good practical skills with the ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations relevant to maintenance work.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance needs outside regular hours may be required.
- Relevant certifications or training in maintenance, engineering, or a related trade would be advantageous.
