Job summary

Sheen Falls Lodge invites applications for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team. You will help maintain the hotel, estate and grounds to high standards across a luxury environment.

We seek someone practical, proactive and capable of handling a wide range of maintenance tasks, with at least two years in plumbing/general maintenance and a clean driving licence. Full training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Two+ years' experience in plumbing and/or general maintenance.
• Plumbing qualification or extensive plumbing experience.
• Knowledge of building maintenance: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boilers, generators, painting.
• Good knowledge of maintenance tools and working practices.
• Ability to organise workload and work independently.
• Full, clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out preventative and general maintenance throughout the property.
• Repairing and replacing equipment and components as required.
• Monitoring equipment and building systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Plumbing, pipework installation and general repairs.
• Painting and decorating.
• Repairs to roofs, gutters, windows and doors.
• Carpentry, flooring, plaster and drywall repairs.
• Supporting the wider Maintenance team with the ongoing care and presentation of the hotel and estate.

Join the team at Sheen Falls Lodge, where maintaining our beautiful hotel, estate and grounds to the highest standards is an essential part of the exceptional experience we create for our guests.

We are currently seeking an experienced and hands‑on Maintenance Assistant to join our Maintenance team, reporting to the Property Manager.

This is a varied role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving and can confidently turn their hand to a wide range of maintenance tasks across a luxury hotel environment.

The Role

As part of our Maintenance team, you will help ensure the hotel, its systems, equipment and grounds are maintained safely, efficiently and to an excellent standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out preventative and general maintenance throughout the property
• Repairing and replacing equipment and components as required
• Monitoring equipment and building systems to ensure efficient operation
• Plumbing, pipework installation and general repairs
• Painting and decorating
• Repairs to roofs, gutters, windows and doors
• Carpentry, flooring, plaster and drywall repairs
• Supporting the wider Maintenance team with the ongoing care and presentation of the hotel and estate

About You

We are looking for someone practical, dependable and proactive, with:

• Ideally have a plumbing qualification and/or extensive practical plumbing experience
• A minimum of two years’ experience in plumbing and/or general maintenance
• Good all-round knowledge of building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boilers, generators and painting
• Strong knowledge of maintenance tools, materials and working practices
• The ability to organise and prioritise your workload and work independently
• A positive, solutions-focused approach and strong attention to detail
• A full, clean driving licence
