Job summary

Cliste Hospitality is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Monaghan, Ireland, to handle maintenance across electrical, plumbing, and general building upkeep, supporting the team to ensure safe, efficient facilities for guests and staff.

You will perform routine inspections, assist with repairs, and coordinate with external contractors as needed. A proactive, flexible attitude and basic maintenance knowledge are essential for this permanent, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance roles, preferably hospitality or engineering environments.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, heating and building systems.
• Safe use of hand and power tools.
• Good problem-solving skills and able to work independently or in a team.
• Good communication and friendly approach.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations for maintenance work.
• Flexibility to respond to urgent needs outside regular hours.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure operational efficiency.
• Assist with minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks as required.
• Support the maintenance team with preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management, prioritising urgent issues.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including faults, repairs, and materials used.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with external contractors when necessary and oversee their work to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment or furniture for events or operational needs.
