Job summary

Search Talent in Cork, Ireland, seeks an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to lead multiple mechanical/HVAC packages for Life Sciences, Pharma and high-tech projects. You will own contracts from pre-construction through to final delivery, coordinating with project teams, clients and senior management.

You will bring 10+ years in mechanical contracting, a strong track record on large Pharma/Life Sciences and data-centre projects, and a background in HVAC and process systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical contracting.
• Experience delivering large-scale projects in Pharma, Life Sciences, Data Centres or similar technical environments.
• Experience with HVAC and process systems.
• Mechanical Engineering qualification is preferred.

Job description

An excellent opportunity has opened for an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join a leading engineering contractor delivering major Life Sciences, Pharma and high-tech projects in Cork and across Ireland.

This is a senior position for someone who has managed significant mechanical/HVAC packages and is comfortable taking responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final delivery.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of multiple mechanical contracts, working closely with project teams, clients and senior management. Responsibilities will include:

• Full delivery of mechanical/HVAC packages
• Programme, budget and commercial management
• Managing Project Managers, site teams and subcontractors
• Client and stakeholder management
• Cost control, forecasting and monthly reporting
• Identifying project risks and resolving issues early
• Supporting tenders and upcoming project opportunities
• Ensuring projects meet quality, safety and programme requirements

What we're looking for

You’ll ideally have 10+ years' experience within mechanical contracting, with a strong background delivering large-scale projects in Pharma, Life Sciences, Data Centres, Semiconductor or similar technical environments.

Experience with HVAC, mechanical and process systems is important, together with a track record of managing substantial packages or multiple projects.

A Mechanical Engineering qualification is preferred.
