Job summary

Baker Finn Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Contracts Manager to oversee major mechanical and HVAC projects in data centre and pharmaceutical sectors. This senior, commercially focused role blends project delivery, contracts management, client relationships and team leadership.

Hybrid emphasis with travel to project sites in Ireland and mainland Europe for kick-offs, reviews and milestones.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple mechanical and HVAC projects across data centre and pharmaceutical sectors.
• Manage projects from mobilisation through installation, commissioning and handover.
• Lead project kick-off meetings with clients, project teams and stakeholders.
• Oversee Project Managers, Site Supervisors and wider project teams.
• Review project progress, resources, commercial performance and programme delivery.
• Manage and negotiate project timelines with clients.
• Liaise with contractors, vendors and stakeholders.
• Plan labour and resource requirements across multiple projects.
• Support procurement and material planning in line with project programmes.
• Take a senior role in project costing, pricing and commercial reviews.
• Review variations and project cost performance.
• Identify and manage commercial and operational risks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key client accounts.
• Act as a senior point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support account growth, repeat business and new opportunities.
• Represent the business at client meetings, project reviews and industry events.
• Provide leadership and support to Project Managers and site teams.

A leading mechanical building services contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of major mechanical and HVAC projects within the data centre and pharmaceutical sectors.

This is a senior, commercially focused role combining project delivery, contracts management, client relationship management and team leadership.

The position will be primarily office-based, with travel to project sites in Ireland and mainland Europe for project kick-offs, key meetings, project reviews and major delivery milestones.

The role would particularly suit someone who has developed their career from a HVAC , pipefitting, mechanical or building services background and has progressed into senior project or contracts management.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A strong HVAC, mechanical, pipefitting,or building services background.
• Previous experience within data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, life sciences, mission-critical environments or complex industrial projects.
• Strong Project Management and/or Contracts Management experience.
• Experience managing Project Managers, Site Supervisors and site-based teams.
• Experience with costing, pricing, procurement and cost management.
• Strong labour and resource planning experience.
• Excellent client-facing and account management skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and vendors.
• The ability to operate effectively across both commercial and technical project requirements.
• Flexibility to travel within Ireland and Europe as required.
• The ability to work primarily in an office-based senior management role while maintaining strong oversight of site delivery.

• Experience working with major mechanical or engineering contractors.
• European data centre and/or pharmaceutical project experience.
