Job summary

Smyths Toys is seeking a Logistics Analyst at our Head Office in Mervue Business Park, Co. Galway. The role focuses on data-driven supply chain analysis, route optimisation, and inventory oversight, reporting to the Logistics Manager. Starting salary is €36,700, with 37.5 hours weekly in a full-time permanent position.

The ideal candidate will have logistics experience, strong Excel and SAP skills, and the ability to work across multiple stakeholders to improve processes and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Logistics/Supply Chain environment.
• Relevant third level qualification.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Proficient in full Microsoft package, especially Excel.
• SAP experience is an advantage.
• Ability to multitask and work well to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be highly numerate and process focused.
• Knowledge of logistics subset.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis & Reporting: Gather, clean, and interpret supply chain metrics using Excel and SAP to identify trends.
• Network & Route Optimisation: Identify cost-effective shipping methods and transport routes.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory costs.
• Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to resolve disruptions and evaluate performance against quality standards.
• Process Improvement: Implement project plans and update logistics databases.
