Job summary

Smyths Toys is seeking a Logistics Analyst to join our Head Office in Galway. You will analyze data, report on supply chain metrics, and support cost-efficient routing and inventory management.

The role requires experience in logistics, a third-level qualification, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP; knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite is essential. 37.5 hours per week; salary about €36,700 with benefits.

About the Role

• This role is located in our Head Office at Mervue Business Park, Co.Galway.
• Salary: €36,700
• Hours: 37.5
• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Responsibilities

The Logistics Analyst will report directly to the Logistics Manager and will be responsible for the following:

• Data Analysis & Reporting: Gather, clean, and interpret supply chain metrics using tools such as Excel and SAP to identify trends.
• Network & Route Optimisation: Identify cost-effective shipping methods and transport routes.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory costs.
• Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to resolve disruptions and evaluate performance against established quality standards.
• Process Improvement: Implement project plans and update logistics databases.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a Logistics/Supply Chain environment.
• Relevant third level qualification.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Proficient in full Microsoft package, especially Excel.
• SAP experience is an advantage.
• Ability to multitask and work well to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be highly numerate and process focused.
• Knowledge of logistics subset.
