Job summary

Gaeltec Utilities Limited is seeking a Lineworker in Kilkenny. The role covers construction, maintenance, repair and inspection of overhead electrical networks, with work at height and sophisticated equipment.

You will follow safety regulations and company policies while delivering reliable electricity to customers. The position requires manual dexterity, willingness to travel to various sites, and the ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Lineworker in overhead distribution or transmission networks.
• Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions; knowledge of electrical safety rules and industry standards.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel to various customer sites.
• Availability to work shifts, evenings, weekends and on short notice.
• Proficient in spoken and written English; Safe Pass and Manual Handling desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and replace overhead and underground power lines, poles, transformers, insulators and related equipment.
• Erect and replace poles, crossarms, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Install and commission transformers and network equipment; planned maintenance and asset replacement programs.
• Support network upgrades, fault locating and restoration activities.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment legislation and company policies.
• Communicate with customers, landowners and stakeholders during work activities.
