Job summary

Gaeltec Utilities Limited is seeking a Lineworker for its Kilkenny operations on a fixed-term contract. The role covers construction, maintenance, repair and inspection of overhead electric distribution networks, including work at height and operation of specialised tools.

You will help ensure safe, reliable electricity delivery and comply with safety policies. The job requires climbing poles, driving to various sites, and readiness for shift work, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a lineworker in overhead distribution or transmission systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and replace overhead and underground power lines and equipment.
• Erect poles, crossarms, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Install and Commission transformers and network equipment.
• Plan maintenance and asset replacement programmes.
• Support network upgrades and restoration projects.
• Locate, diagnose and restore supply interruptions; assist restoration teams.
