Job summary

Tyler Weir in Ireland is seeking an L&D Manager to lead trainee solicitor development under a 12-month fixed-term contract.

You will design learning strategies, coordinate curriculum with the Law Society of Ireland, and mentor trainees, delivering classroom and online/hybrid sessions.

Applicants should have L&D experience in professional services, a qualified law background or equivalent, and coaching qualifications; proficiency with Microsoft 365 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in Learning & Development, preferably in legal or professional services.
• Qualified Lawyer or strong professional services/graduate trainee background.
• Accredited performance coaching qualification or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Strong communicator capable of engaging with trainees.
• Proactive problem-solver who can work autonomously.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
• Experience with learning technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement learning strategies and programmes tailored to trainee lawyers.
• Lead and coordinate the curriculum in partnership with the Law Society of Ireland.
• Coach and mentor trainees in relation to their professional development.
• Facilitate learning through classroom delivery and online/hybrid formats.
• Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Collaborate with department heads and the Professional Development Director to align learning with firm goals.
• Stay updated on trends in legal education and incorporate best practices.
