Job summary

WILLIAM FRY LLP in Dublin is seeking an L&D Manager (Trainees) to oversee learning, development and performance of trainee solicitors. You will design programs, lead advanced elective curricula with the Law Society of Ireland, and mentor trainees to excel in their legal careers.

You will foster hybrid learning, monitor training effectiveness, and collaborate with the Professional Development Director to align learning with firm strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience in Learning & Development, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
• Accredited performance coaching qualification or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
• A strong communicator who can engage with trainees.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work autonomously.
• Committed to continuous professional development and learning.
• Experience of working with learning technologies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Background in legal practice in a top-tier corporate law firm would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing learning strategies and programmes tailored to trainee lawyers.
• Leading and coordinating the curriculum for and delivery of advanced elective programmes (delivered with the Law Society of Ireland).
• Guiding, coaching & mentoring trainees in their professional development.
• Facilitating a mix of learning methods, including classroom delivery and online/hybrid learning.
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training and adjusting as necessary.
• Collaborating with department heads to align learning strategy with firm goals.
• Staying abreast of trends in legal education and applying best practices.
