Job summary

Fineco Asset Management DAC, based in Dublin, seeks a qualified Irish solicitor with 6+ PQE in investment funds to join the Legal Team. You will handle UCITS/AIF regulatory work, draft fund documents, and manage central bank interactions across Irish and Luxembourg umbrellas.

Role requires strong communication, business partnering, and the ability to deliver practical legal advice on complex topics, with a hybrid work pattern (3 days in office, 2 remote).

Qualifications

• Qualified Irish Solicitor or solicitor with equivalent qualification in another jurisdiction with 6+ years' post‑qualification experience (gained working in Ireland specifically).
• Previous experience in investment funds is essential, with an understanding of investment strategies and drafting fund product documentation.
• Highly motivated, pragmatic, solutions‑oriented and a real business partner.
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with top management and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Follow-up, analysis and implementation of new legislation or regulatory requirements impacting Fineco AM and the funds under management.
• Draft and maintain fund and management company documents (Prospectus, Supplements, KIIDs/KIDs) and ancillary documents.
• Draft and review a range of contracts (IMAs, investment advisory agreements, licensing agreements).
• Draft and review fund transactional documentation (ISDA, confirmations, amendments).
• Provide practical legal advice on Irish and Luxembourg fund umbrellas and governance requirements.
• Assist with board meetings and committee preparation.

Fineco Asset Management DAC (‘Fineco AM’) is a Dublin based Asset Management Company, and a subsidiary of FinecoBank S.p.A. (“FinecoBank”). Fineco AM, which started its operations in May 2018, is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland as a UCITS & AIFM Management Company with a MIFID top up, and it currently has approximately €39bn in assets under management. Fineco AM is a competence centre- specialised in the management of fund-of-funds, single strategy funds, as well as Structured Solutions Funds. In addition to portfolio management activities, all key supporting and controlling functions, such as Compliance, Risk, Finance and Legal, are also performed locally.

The Role

We are looking to recruit a Legal Counsel to join our Legal Team. This role will report into the Head of Legal. We are looking for a candidate who not only is familiar with UCITS and AIFs and engaging with the Central Bank on Irish fund authorisations but who ideally also has experience with debt issuances and the relevant documents required to issue such securities.

Main Responsibilities:

• Legislation and Regulation -Follow-up, analysis and implementation of new legislation or regulatory requirements impacting Fineco AM and the funds under management (such as the UCITS Directives, AIFMD, MiFID II, EMIR, SFDR, CP86 and outsourcing requirements).
• Fund Approvals/Amendments – Complete Central Bank and CSSF applications for new sub-funds and manage all post authorisation fund amendments with the Central Bank or the CSSF. Generally assist with Fineco AM’s product development right from idea stage through to fully managing the new product approval process with the regulator and internal and external stakeholders;
• Fund Documentation – Draft and maintain fund and management company documents (e.g. Prospectus, Supplements, KIIDs/KIDs and Business Plan) and other ancillary documents related to the investment funds under management;
• Contracts - Draft and review a range of commercial contracts impacting Fineco AM and the funds under management (such as IMAs with third party managers, investment advisory agreements and licensing agreements);
• Transactional Documentation: Draft and review fund transactional documentation (such as ISDA Agreements, transaction confirmations, ISDA amendment agreements and give-up agreements);
• Legal Advice – Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on issues that arise for Fineco AM in the context of its Irish and Luxembourg fund umbrellas and in respect of Fineco AM’s own management company governance requirements;
• Projects - Participation in ad-hoc regulatory and business projects;
• Board and Fineco AM Committee Preparation and Attendance – Assist internal stakeholders and the Company Secretary in respect of preparing and organising quarterly and ad hoc board meetings and attend to present topics as needed; and

Key requirements:

• Qualified Irish Solicitor or a solicitor with equivalent qualification in another jurisdiction with 6+ years' post qualification experience (gained working in Ireland specifically).
• Previous experience in investment funds is essential, with a demonstratable background in the understanding of investment strategies and subsequent drafting of fund product documentation.
• Highly motivated, pragmatic, solutions-oriented and a real business partner.
• Ability to conduct a thorough legal analysis of complex topics and translate this analysis into practical and sufficient legal advice.
• Commitment to high standards and forensic attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to liaise with top management and other stakeholders.
• Independent worker, with the organisational and task management skills necessary to manage a large volume of tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to effectively prioritise work by understanding competing priorities and make appropriate judgments regarding relative importance.
