Job summary

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) Ireland seeks a Fund Accountant Supervisor to oversee end-to-end NAV production and valuation for assigned client relationships. You will lead the daily valuation workflow, supervise the accounting team, and ensure accuracy, timeliness and regulatory compliance.

Acting as a key client contact, you will drive service delivery improvements, manage risk, and support offshore teams. A degree in finance/business and strong Excel/Power BI skills are required.

  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting, UCITS and non-UCITS structures and related regulations (e.g. UCITS, AIFMD).
  • Degree in business, finance or accounting; professional accounting or finance accreditation an advantage.

About the team:

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has been active in Ireland for 20 years and is a leading player in servicing Irish domiciled and offshore collective investment vehicles. We act locally as fund administrator and depositary for a wide range of international clients who manage schemes from UCITS to AIFs including private equity and real estate structures, hedge funds and special purpose vehicles.

Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:

The Fund Accountant Supervisor is responsible for supervising and delivering the end-to-end NAV production and valuation process for assigned client relationships, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and quality of output

Provides day-to-day leadership, oversight and technical support to the Fund Accounting team, driving performance, development and adherence to procedures

Acts as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring a high standard of service delivery and issue resolution

Ensures effective risk management, control and regulatory compliance across all activities, including escalation of issues where appropriate

Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing processes, controls and operational efficiency within the function.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervises the daily valuation workflow of one or more client relationships
  • Validate the NAV’s and provide assistance to the offshore team
  • Perform onshore NAV’s when required
  • Ensures timely and accurate results for each of the funds within each relationship
  • Provides guidance to the Fund Accounting Team
  • Ensures technical assistance to Fund Accounting Team
  • Problem solving for the Fund Accounting Team in resolving issues
  • Ensures that all reconciling items are followed up and escalated where necessary
  • Supervises the Fund Accounting Team to ensure that procedures are followed and that the service is at the required standard
  • Ensures that all agreed deliverables are met
  • Be the 1st point of escalation with clients for queries / issues for which you are delegated
  • Ensures all fee budgets and performance fees calculations are agreed with the clients on an annual & recurring basis
  • Communicates issues on a timely basis to management
  • Maintains positive relationships with clients
  • Expands and promotes the image of SGSS to all external contacts
  • Ensures that clients receive the best quality of service
  • Proactive in response to (internal and external) client queries
  • Involvement with the implement and continuous update of procedures and processes
  • Ensure compliance with the ISAE3402 certification
  • Participating and leading on special projects where required
  • Keep up to date on any technical and regulatory developments within the business
  • Liaise with the clients / custody back office / clearing broker(s) …etc. – re: various matters/issues (reconciliations, settlements, corporate action …)
Profile required
  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting, including UCITS and non-UCITS structures, and a comprehensive understanding of the fund industry and associated regulations (e.g. UCITS, AIFMD)
  • Solid knowledge of financial instruments, capital markets, derivatives, and the full NAV production process, with a good understanding of core accounting principles and strong financial product knowledge
  • Proficient in Excel and general IT systems; knowledge of GP4 desirable, with Power BI, VBA, Python or similar tools an advantage
  • Experience with Private Equity and/or Real Estate structures (e.g. ELTIF), and exposure to system migrations or parallel runs an advantage
  • 3–5 years’ experience, preferably within financial services, with previous supervisory experience essential
  • Degree required, preferably in business, finance or accounting
  • Proven ability to supervise, lead and motivate a team, with sound judgement and awareness of when to elevate issues
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Client-focused with a strong service orientation; fluent English essential, with additional languages (e.g. French) an advantage
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective planning, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proactive approach with strong initiative, including a focus on process improvement and driving efficiencies
Good understanding of operational risk and the ability to identify, manage, and elevate issues appropriately
