Job summary

Fineco Asset Management DAC, based in Dublin, is seeking a motivated analyst to support trade execution, monthly portfolio reporting, and quantitative research. You will work with Python/SQL, develop systematic investment insights, and help automate data workflows in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with execution and implementation of trades.
  • Contribute to monthly reporting: portfolio positioning, performance, risk.
  • Perform quantitative research: backtesting, data modelling, forecasting.
  • Develop and test systematic investment strategies and models.
  • Automate data collection, cleaning, and processing for decision-making.
  • Support creation of proprietary quant tools and analytics.

Job description

Fineco Asset Management DAC (‘Fineco AM’) is a Dublin based Asset Management Company, and asubsidiary of FinecoBank S.p.A. (“FinecoBank”). FinecoBank (“Fineco”) is a leading European bank with a 20-year history and a fully digital DNA with a branchless approach since the start. Fineco is one of the banks with the widest products range available. Fineco have developed a truly one-stop-solution which includes trading, investment and payment services. Fineco have developed a 100% proprietary platform for trading and investment which covers all customer needs from trading listed and OTC product to investment product such as mutual funds and ETF.

Fineco AM, which started its operations in May 2018, is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland as a UCITS & AIFM Management Company with a MIFID top up, and it currently has approximately €39bn in assets under management. Fineco AM is a competence centre- specialised in the management of fund-of-funds, single strategy funds, as well as Structured Solutions Funds. In addition to portfolio management activities, all key supporting and controlling functions, such as Compliance, Risk, Finance and Legal, are also performed locally.

The company started with 5 employees and has experienced strong and consistent growth, with a current headcount of approximately 95 FTE’s.

Currently Fineco AM manages 3 UCITS Umbrella Funds- 1 in Luxembourg and 2 in Ireland.

The Role
  • Assisting with the execution and implementation of trades
  • Contributing to monthly reporting tasks, including portfolio positioning, performance analysis, and risk reporting
  • Quantitative research and analysis, including:
  • Developing and testing systematic investment strategies
  • Performing statistical analysis on asset pricing, portfolio risk, and return attributions
  • Evaluating historical market data and backtesting trading signals
  • Implementing and enhancing data models and forecasting techniques
  • Supporting the automation of data collection, cleaning, and processing for investment decision-making
  • Assisting in the development of proprietary quant models and analytical tools
  • Working with large financial datasets to identify trends, inefficiencies, and potential trading opportunities
  • Contributing to process improvements and efficiency enhancements by automating manual workflows and optimising models
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Python and/or SQL (or willingness to learn) for data analysis and automation
  • A keen interest in financial markets, investments, and quantitative finance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently when required
  • A team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues
  • Prior experience (internships or up to 2-3 years) in investment management, trading, or financial data analysis is advantageous but not essential
