Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive backend Java solutions within the Cyber Security Services platform. You will lead high-performance, high-volume applications, collaborate across teams, and guide juniors while delivering secure, scalable software in a fast-paced environment.

You will engage with cloud-native development (PCF/Azure) and microservices, shaping features from concept through production support, with a strong emphasis on code quality and reliable delivery.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Java SDK 1.8 or greater.
• Deep knowledge of software development processes including SAFe/Agile processes.
• Breadth of tech experience including JBoss, Tomcat, shell scripting, JSON, multi-threading, Maven, Linux, SQL, Pivotal, Kafka and Spring framework.
• Expertise with Eclipse or IntelliJ and ability to compile, deploy and execute code artifacts.
• Experience integrating vendor and open source products into an overall system.
• Experience with cloud software development (PCF, Azure) and development on microservices architecture.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of engineers to develop high performance, high volume Java applications.
• Deliver solutions by providing direct development of software solutions.
• Assist with production support issues as point-of-contact and SME in resolving incidents and tickets.
• Collaborate with technical leads, software engineers, business analysts to define features and user stories.
• Contribute to planning and development of software solutions.
• Learn and contribute to our complex platform quickly.
• Perform code reviews to ensure best practices and provide guidance to juniors.
