Job summary

Gaia Talent is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer/Team Lead for its Water & Utilities team based in Galway, Ireland. The role focuses on leading design and delivery of major water, wastewater and utility infrastructure projects.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers and drive project programmes, while coordinating with clients, contractors and authorities to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Level 8).
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership with Engineers Ireland.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on water/wastewater projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; knowledge of hydraulic modelling and GIS.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of water, wastewater, drainage and utility infrastructure projects.
• Act as technical lead on Design-Build and traditional contracts.
• Manage outputs, resources and programmes to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Review designs, drawings, calculations and technical reports.
• Liaise with Uisce Éireann, local authorities and partners.
• Mentor Graduate and Project Engineers.
• Provide construction support, site visits and design reviews.
• Support bids, business development and client relationships.
• Ensure QA/QC, Health & Safety, BCAR and standards compliance.
