Job summary

Talbot Hotel Midleton is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our team. The role is on-site in Midleton, Co. Cork, Ireland, with flexibility for midweek and weekend shifts and up to 39 hours per week.

The successful candidate should be a team player, possess a communicative level of English, and be able to work under pressure. Prior hotel kitchen experience is advantageous and training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel environment is advantageous.
• Communicative level of English.
• Team player; ability to work on own initiative.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Available for midweek and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen hygiene to an acceptable standard at all times.
• Handle pot wash, storage areas, kitchen and storage surroundings, and rubbish skips.
• Ensure crockery is cleaned and available for departments.
• Assist chefs in duties as required.
• Work positively within the team.

Main Duties:

• To ensure that the kitchen is maintained to an acceptable standard of hygiene at all times;
• Areas of responsibility: a) pot washb) pot/pan storage areasc) Kitchen/larder areas and surroundsd) Rubbish skip areas e) Hygiene in kitchen and storage areas f) wash up area g)staffing areas
• To ensure that all crockery is cleaned and available for the departments as they are required;
• To assist chefs in any duties, as required;
• Work positively within the team;

The successful candidate must have:

• Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel environment would be a distinct advantage;
• A communicative level of English;
