Job summary

Aramark Ireland is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our busy Limerick kitchen. You will help maintain a clean, organized environment, support the culinary team, and ensure equipment, utensils and surfaces meet high hygiene standards in a fast-paced operation.

The role requires efficiency, professionalism and a flexible approach to shifts, including evenings and weekends. You will handle washing, storage, waste disposal and basic food preparation tasks while adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and glassware according to safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including floors and work surfaces.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables following regulations.
• Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team.
• Operate and manage dishwashing equipment during peak periods.
• Stock and organize kitchen supplies and inventory.
• Support kitchen team during service and adapt to changing priorities.
• Follow health, safety, and food hygiene regulations at all times.

As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and smooth operation of our kitchen facilities. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, you will support our culinary team by ensuring all equipment, utensils, and surfaces are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. The ideal candidate will be efficient, professional, and committed to supporting our team in delivering excellent service to our guests.

• Wash, clean, and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and glassware in accordance with food safety standards and organizational protocols
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including floors, work surfaces, and storage areas to ensure a safe and efficient workspace
• Dispose of waste and recyclable materials appropriately and safely, following environmental and health regulations
• Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients with precision and care
• Load and operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely, managing high volumes during peak service periods
• Stock and organize kitchen supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained and items are easily accessible
• Support the kitchen team during service periods, responding promptly and professionally to requests and changing priorities
• Adhere to all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations at all times, reporting any concerns to supervisors
• Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner
• Maintain personal hygiene standards and wear appropriate protective clothing throughout your shift
• Collaborate with team members to create a supportive and inclusive kitchen environment
• Recognize and address potential safety hazards proactively to maintain a secure workplace

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a kitchen or hospitality environment (preferred)
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations and best practices
• Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced, demanding environment, particularly during high-volume service periods
• Strong attention to detail and unwavering commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization
• Physical stamina and ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items regularly without compromise to safety
• Excellent time management, reliability, and consistent punctuality
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Manual dexterity and comfort using commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and special event days as required
